How Much Does a Fruit Pomace Dryer Cost?

2026-08-11 14:27
Apple pomace, pear pomace, orange and citrus pomace are rich in fiber, sugar and vitamins. Direct disposal leads to huge resource waste. Fresh fruit pomace features 65%-85% high moisture content, which causes rapid mildew, odor and storage difficulties. The fruit pomace dryer continuously dehydrates sticky wet pomace down to about 12% moisture. Dried pomace can be stored, packed and transported easily, and reused as animal feed, organic fertilizer and raw materials for food extraction to boost economic profits. Many fruit processing enterprises ask for the price of a full set of pomace drying equipment.

According to the market quotation of 2026, fruit pomace dryers have a wide price range: small lab/small-scale dryers start from tens of thousands RMB; medium single machines cost 100,000 to 500,000 RMB; complete production lines equipped with pre-dewatering, dust removal, heat supply and automatic control systems range from hundreds of thousands to over one million RMB. Large customized lines with daily output over 100 tons cost more than one million. Prices fluctuate with raw material costs and market supply-demand relations, without fixed uniform quotations. Three key factors cause the price gap:
1. Equipment Quality & Complete Configuration
Price matches quality. The total cost depends on raw materials, drying technology, production capacity and supporting systems.
- Material & Craftsmanship: Fruit pomace contains high sugar and strong viscosity. Premium dryers adopt wear-resistant anti-corrosion steel, self-cleaning anti-sticking lifting plates and complete heat recovery insulation. Low-cost non-standard dryers use thin steel without breaking devices, resulting in frequent material sticking, high heat loss and excessive energy consumption. High-quality equipment has higher upfront investment yet lower long-term power and maintenance costs.
- Capacity Model: Small dryers with hourly output of several hundred kilograms are cheap; medium rotary drum or multi-layer mesh-belt dryers (1-5 tons/hour) are mid-priced; large three-channel dryers over 10 tons/hour cost much more.
- Supporting Systems: Single host machines have low prices. Complete production lines include screw press pre-dewatering, feeding conveyors, dedicated breaking dryers, hot blast furnaces, bag dust & deodorization systems and PLC automatic control cabinets. Full environmental supporting equipment raises total costs. Heat sources (electric, air energy, gas, biomass, coal-fired furnace) also create obvious price differences.
Buying ultra-low-cost simple equipment saves initial investment but leads to frequent downtime, excessive fuel bills and environmental rectification fees, with higher overall operation costs in the long run.
 2. Manufacturer & Sales Channel Greatly Affect Quotation
Trading agents, resellers and original manufacturers offer totally different prices:
- Direct Source Manufacturers: Independent R&D, production, installation and after-sales without markup. Custom anti-sticking structures for apple/citrus pomace are available, with fast on-site maintenance and spare parts supply.
- Intermediate Dealers: Multiple markups, no customized technical optimization and slow after-sales response, bringing hidden extra costs.
Customers are recommended to visit factory workshops and running pomace drying projects before purchase to verify processing quality and actual drying performance.
 3. Market Supply & Demand Adjust Quotations Dynamically
Prices fluctuate with costs of steel, stainless steel, motors and burners. When the market is oversupplied with fierce competition, manufacturers cut prices and launch discount packages. During fruit processing peak seasons with full order schedules, quotations will rise slightly.

 Purchase Tips
Never judge equipment only by price. Confirm your actual working conditions (daily output, inlet moisture, workshop space, emission standards) first, and choose dryers specially designed for high-sugar sticky fruit pomace. Bring your pomace samples for on-site drying tests at the factory before confirming configuration and quotation.
