Bag Filter Operating Temperature and Notice

Note: Bag filter is a dry dust remover, suitable for collecting dry non-fabric fine dust. The filter-bag is made of woven filter cloth or non-woven felt, to filter the dust-bearing gas by filtration effect of the fiber fabrics.When dusty gas passes through the bag filter, larger and heavier particles deposit in the ash bucket while smaller particles are blocked when passing the filter material, thus the gas is purified.

The bag dust collector is mainly composed of upper chamber, middle chamber, lower chamber(ash bucket), dedusting system, ash discharging gear, etc. Compared with similar products, bag filter has 1) Higher efficiency, usually over 99%; 2)Wider range of air volume handling capacity, widely used in various industrial furnaces and drying equipment; 3) Simpler structure; 4) Lower production cost; 5) Easier operation and maintenance.

1.Operating Temperature

Operating temperature is an important basis when designing the bag filter. Incorrect operating temperature may cause grave consequences. The temperature is restricted by two conditions:

1)The maximum allowable temperature(Both instantaneous and long-term) is under strict restriction.

2)In case of moisture condensation, the gas temperature must be kept above the dew point,generally over 30℃.

For high temperature dust, it must be cooled to the bearable temperature of the filter bag. Bag filter for high temperature gas costs more.Cooling equipment also needs financial support.

The cooling method shall be determined according to the temperature and air volume formed in the production process. And the most economical processing temperature shall be worked out taking the size of the dust remover into account. SOx-bearing gas has higher acid dew point. If high temperature gas cannot be cooled to the lowest temperature, it`s because it contains a lot of water and sulfur oxides.

Relationship between operating temperature and dust removal efficiency is not obvious. It should be remarkable that, generally the emission concentration is measured by mg/m3 while high temperature gas is measured by g/m3. When handling with high-humidity gas with high temperature close to dew point, if the dust is easy to be deliquesced, then it should be mixed with high-temperature gas to reduce the relative humidity.
